Yes, I Can Help a Wine Shop. Wine Is Just My Last Name.

I keep seeing ZacWine.com show up around searches for local wine stores.

There is a reasonable explanation for this.

My last name is Wine.

I am not a wine store. ZacWine.com does not have a secret cellar, a tasting room, or a particularly ambitious selection of pinot noir. I do marketing and build websites for owner-led businesses.

But this creates a funny little search problem: Google occasionally sees Zac + Wine + local business and decides I may be exactly what somebody looking for a bottle shop had in mind.

I am not.

Unless you own the bottle shop.

If you run a wine shop, you might actually be in the right place#

Wine shops, wineries, tasting rooms, and bottle shops have plenty of the same marketing problems I work on for other local businesses.

People need to find you when they search locally. Your Google Business Profile and website need to agree about where you are, when you are open, and what you sell. Your website should make the place look worth visiting before somebody chooses the shop down the street.

And if you sell online, host tastings, run a wine club, take reservations, or have multiple locations, the website has more work to do than simply displaying an address and a photo of some bottles.

So yes: I can help with the website and local marketing for a wine business.

I just arrived at the niche through an unusually convenient surname.

If you were looking for a bottle of wine, sorry about the detour.

If you were looking for someone to improve the website or local marketing for the place selling it, this worked out surprisingly well.

Not Every Page on Your Website Needs to Rank

Ranking is one job a webpage can have. Judge acquisition pages by acquisition, and judge the pages after them by the trust, clarity, proof, qualification, or action they are there to create.
